COR Conversation: Federal Agency DEI Leaders and Strategic Plans

On January 25th, 2024, the Council on Research (COR) curated an enriching webinar in collaboration with the Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (CDEI). The principal aim was to cultivate a direct and engaging discourse with senior leaders from federal agencies, delving into their strategies for fostering an inclusive culture within the dynamic fields of STEM.

The webinar featured insightful presentations by Charles ‘Chuck’ Barber, the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the National Science Foundation, and Dr. Marie Bernard, the Chief Officer for Scientific Workplace Diversity at the National Institutes of Health. Chuck Barber and Dr. Marie Bernard not only shared their insights on cultivating inclusivity but also underscored specific funding programs designed to champion diversity initiatives within the scientific community.
