APLU 2024 Institutional Awards Application Window Now Open

The application window for APLU’s 2024 institutional awards is now open. All APLU members are encouraged to apply for an APLU award in community engagement, innovation and economic prosperity, comprehensive internationalization, public impact research, and degree completion. Award applications must include an institution’s presidents/chancellor’s letter of support.

Winners will be prominently announced during APLU Annual Meeting in November, where they will also be able to present their strategies for success to other public research university leaders and peers.  Learn more about the awards below.  

Degree Completion Award 
Student success is one of the most pressing concerns for institutions of higher education. APLU established the Degree Completion Award to identify and honor public research universities using innovative strategies and initiatives to increase retention and graduation outcomes and/or close achievement gaps for all students. ***Apply Now | Deadline: June 28, 2024*** 
 
C. Peter Magrath & W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Awards  
The APLU C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award provides national recognition for the outstanding community-university engagement work of public universities. The Magrath Award winner is chosen from one of four regional winners of the Kellogg Community Engagement Awards, which are presented each fall during the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) annual conference. ***Apply Now | Deadline: April 19, 2024*** 

Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) Universities Awards 
Universities that have earned APLU’s IEP Designation qualify for the IEP Awards competition as world-class leaders in economic engagement. The awards promote universities’ significant contributions and achievements in developing innovation and entrepreneurship, talent, and place in their region, and in building connections across these types of contributions. ***Apply Now | Deadline: April 12, 2024*** 
 
International Impact Awards   
Global engagement and programming are scholarly and practical imperatives today. The APLU International Impact Awards recognize public universities and their leaders for driving a comprehensive and impactful approach to internationalization that demonstrates an institution-wide commitment to those efforts. ***Apply Now | Deadline: July 5, 2024*** 
 
In addition to the awards mentioned above, APLU will announce details for its Public Impact Research Award later this spring. Previously an award within the Council on Research, it will now become part of the APLU institutional award series presented at the APLU Annual Meeting.
