USU-APLU Urban Adult Learner Institute to Add New AI Components to Curriculum

The Coalition of Urban Serving Universities (USU), in collaboration with APLU, will soon add new AI  curriculum components to its Urban Adult Learner Institute (UALI), a self-paced professional development program designed to support faculty, staff, and administrators in improving outcomes for adult learners, specifically students over the age of 25 who are earning a bachelor’s degree. The new AI elements are made possible through funding from Google.org.

This funding supports the development of AI-informed resources, examples, and learning activities throughout the UALI curriculum to better support practitioners working with adult learners. Enrollment in UALI remains open, and participants who join now will benefit from these enhancements as they are introduced. Through four engaging modules, UALI provides evidence-based strategies focused on adult learners’ transitions into, through, and beyond college, as well as their career pathways and the role community partnerships play in their success. UALI participants earn digital badges for each module completed and become certified Adult Learner Advocates after completing all four.

UALI participants also have no-cost access to the Google AI Professional Certificate through the Google AI for Education Accelerator.
