The University of Utah

In the late 1960’s, a group of researchers at the University of Utah changed the way we relate to the digital world. As room-filling computers began proliferating, they transformed their displays from simple lines and text into some of the first 3D images.  Before co-founding Adobe, John Warnock’s 1969 “hidden surface algorithm” was instrumental in rendering these early models; it forms the basis for modern CGI.  Learn more
