Texas Tech turns a dream and a promise into a reality

Earlier this past week, Texas Tech University and the College of Education were identified by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) as one of four regional winners of the 2018 W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award. As a recipient of this award, Texas Tech will compete with other regional winners – Ball State University, University of Florida and Virginia Tech – for the national C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award. As dean of the Texas Tech University College of Education and principal investigator on the East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood (ELPN) grant, the work on this project has been the most rewarding of my career.
