University plans full-tuition financial aid packages for high school grads

NIU President Lisa Freeman announced the university’s plan to introduce a new financial aid program called Huskie Pledge during her State of the University address on Tuesday at Altgeld Auditorium. Huskie Pledge is set to launch for the fall 2020 semester and will provide qualifying Illinois residents with a grant that covers their first year’s full tuition, Freeman said.
