APLU Statement on Endless Frontier Act

Washington, DC – Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) President Peter McPherson today released the following statement on developments in the Endless Frontier Act, which came to the Senate floor earlier today.

“The Endless Frontier Act represents the kind of bold and visionary leadership we need to assert U.S. leadership in science, technology, and innovation globally. This bill lays a foundation for the U.S. to remain the world’s unparalleled scientific leader.

“As the Senate considers changes to the bill, we urge lawmakers to refrain from adding provisions that will jeopardize the reciprocal international academic collaboration that is a hallmark of quality science. In addition, when Congress passes a final package it will be critically important for lawmakers to fully fund the proposal to ensure the bill’s vision translates into real investments.”
