Engaged Research, Extension, and Community Partnerships
Public universities are working to ensure community engagement is integrated into the research, teaching, and service mission, and preparing students to be civically engaged.
The IEP designation program helps higher education institutions better know, measure, tell, and enhance their economic and community development impact while recognizing institutions that have demonstrated an institution-wide commitment to and strategy for regional economic engagement, growth, and economic opportunity.
Since 2006, the APLU C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award has provided national recognition for the outstanding community-university engagement work of public universities. The Magrath Award winner is chosen from one of four regional winners of the Kellogg Community Engagement Awards.
