David Edelson is APLU’s Assistant Vice President, Public Affairs & Member Engagement. He is responsible for APLU’s online presence, assists in programming and marketing the annual meeting, develops strategies to increase engagement with APLU members, helps work with the Council on Strategic Communications, and more. He played a major role in redesigning the APLU website and helped lead APLU’s efforts to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act, including having public universities be a centerpiece of the 2012 Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
Prior to joining APLU in 2005 he was the assistant director for public affairs at the Police Executive Research Forum—a non-profit membership association of chief law enforcement officers from urban areas. David is a proud graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.
