Kim Scotto joined APLU in 2021 as an Associate in the Office of Food, Agriculture & Natural Resources (FANR). Kim provides communications and administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for FANR Communications and External Partnerships and administrative support to the Executive Director, Board on Human Sciences.
Previously, Kim worked at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS). She served as the UF/IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences’ Communications Specialist, and prior to that, as an Administrative Support Assistant II. In these roles she was responsible for helping facilitate a school rebranding; planning events and Advisory Board meetings; and writing and designing digital and print content.
Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Delaware. She started her career as an environmental educator and worked at several nature centers in New York, Delaware, and Maryland before transitioning into a more administrative role as Volunteer Coordinator at Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills, MD. She has also worked as a Certification Assistant at the Wildlife Habitat Council in Silver Spring, MD, and as the Alumni Liaison/Regulatory Compliance Administrator at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, FL. She is excited to join APLU and return to the D.C. metro area.
