Jimmy serves as the Associate Director of the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities. In this role, Jimmy oversees grant-funded projects including the Partnerships for Adult Learner Success (PALS) in collaboration with the Lumina Foundation which seeks to create supportive, equitable, and sustainable college environments for college students aged 25+. He is excited to continue connecting and researching with partner universities and organizations to create more inclusive higher education spaces for all students.

Prior to joining APLU/USU in 2022, Jimmy worked in student affairs at the University of South Carolina, New York University, and the University of Maryland, he also has experience as an elementary school teacher prior to entering the field of higher education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education, a master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Virginia Tech, and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of Maryland.

In his free time, Jimmy enjoys traveling around the world with his partner, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his two dogs.
