Susan Thomas

Susan Thomas joined the APLU in 2023 as an Associate, Food, Agriculture & Natural Resources. Her prior work in higher education makes her an experienced administrative professional skilled at program development and support.

Thomas has lived, worked, and volunteered in Northern Virginia for the last several years after moving to the area for her husband’s military relocation. She earned an AA in English from Peace College, a BA in English and Religion from Meredith College, and an MA in English from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. 

In addition to a professional focus as a researcher, writer and editor, Thomas spent two decades working with, volunteering for, and helping to establish groups specifically serving the unique needs of military families, especially during deployment.
