Council on Governmental Affairs

The Council on Governmental Affairs (CGA) is composed of representatives designated by the presidents and chancellors of each of the APLU institutions. They are the principal points of contact between their institutions and their congressional delegations as well as federal agencies. The council is chaired by a member of the CGA who is elected by the full council.

The CGA works closely with APLU’s Office of Governmental Affairs.

Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance through Research & Education

Iowa State University will establish and host a new national Institute for Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education. APLU and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) chose Iowa State to lead the institute, which is designed to foster and coordinate research and education activities using a One Health approach to comprehensively tackle the AMR problem.
