International Impact Award

What is the International Impact Award?

The APLU International Impact Award recognizes innovative and impactful global engagement efforts by an APLU member institution.

A successful application will demonstrate innovative global engagement efforts and how they impact your institution in one or more of the following areas:

  • Local/Global Community Engagement
  • Global Teaching and Learning
  • Research

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of senior international officers from APLU member institutions. The committee will evaluate applications’ global engagement efforts with emphasis on innovation, impact, and sustainability all within the context of an institution. To avoid conflicts of interest, the members of the selection committee will not be allowed to apply for the International Impact Award. The winner of the International Impact Award will be celebrated at the APLU Annual Meeting.

If you have any questions, please contact Jordan Merker, Assistant Director for International Engagement, at jmerker@aplu.org.

The 2026 cycle of the International Impact Award is now open. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM (Eastern).
