Authorization Legislation

APLU staff regularly monitor and engage Congress on a range of authorization bills, from those related to innovation to student aid to patent reform. The legislation tracked generally follows the Congressional agenda. APLU staff also engage the Executive Branch on the implementation of legislation and related regulation development.

Among the issues that APLU is following in the 114th Congress:

• Patent and Other Intellectual Property Legislation
• Higher Education Act (HEA) reauthorization
• The COMPETES Act reauthorization
• Tax reform proposals and legislation
