The APLU Council on Research (COR) met in collaboration with APLU’s Council for International Initiatives (CII) for our 2023 summer meeting at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada! In addition to COR’s typical programming, the international meeting encouraged collaboration between our U.S. and Canadian counterparts on shared considerations such as research integrity and partnerships.

The pre-meeting, “The New and Future SRO” Workshop for new and aspiring Senior Research Officers, (SROs), took place on Sunday, June 25.

Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance through Research & Education
Iowa State University will establish and host a new national Institute for Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education. APLU and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) chose Iowa State to lead the institute, which is designed to foster and coordinate research and education activities using a One Health approach to comprehensively tackle the AMR problem.
