Federal Budget & Appropriations

APLU advocates to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), engages with members of Congress, and works with member institutions to submit appropriations requests of importance to public research universities.

APLU’s FY2027 Appropriations Priorities Summary Chart provides an overview of our annual requests and current funding levels. The FY2026 Appropriations Priorities Summary Chart contains the most-recently enacted funding levels and House and Senate action. APLU also developed a summary of the FY2027 President’s Budget Request.

President’s Budget Request
Each year when the President’s Budget Request is sent to Congress, APLU analyzes the White House’s key funding priorities and policy changes.

Agriculture
