Transformational Planning Grant

In partnership with APLU, the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities (USU) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Transformational Planning Grant (TPG) project was the first phase of the Collaborating for Change initiative.

A cohort of seven public urban research universities spent a year planning and designing new business models and innovative approaches to increase access, improve success rates and find greater cost efficiencies.

TPG Institutions:

• California State University, Fresno developed a foundation for their K-16 Promise Pipeline. Learn more about Fresno State’s transformation work!
• Florida International University planned and implemented the University Transformation through Teaching (UT3) strategic plan to turn around high failure gateway courses. Learn more about FIU’s transformation work!
• Georgia State University employed the use of predictive analytics to transform practices such as course scheduling and developed more holistic approaches to supporting student success. Learn more about GSU’s transformation work!
